
The Crittenden County volleyball team stopped Caldwell County’s four-match winning streak and now has a three-match winning string of its own.
The Lady Rockets swept three sets Thursday night at the CAB gym in Princeton, defeating the Lady Tigers 25-13, 25-19, 25-20.
Crittenden, now coached by former Lady Tiger Savanna Tays, rolled through the first set and built a big lead in the second set before Caldwell (6-5) rallied back to within 19-18. However, the Lady Rockets took six of the last seven points to take a 2-0 lead.
Caldwell led until the midway point of the third set before Crittenden (7-8) came back to take the set and the match.
The Lady Tigers had won 26 straight against Crittenden but have now dropped matches to the Lady Rockets each of the last two seasons. Caldwell still leads all-time 33-4.
Rylee Thompson led the Lady Tigers with eight kills and added 13 digs.
Morgan Aikins recorded three kills, a block and three digs while Brylee Butts had three kills and a block.
Benashka Thomas had two kills, a block and two digs.
Kylee White totaled 16 assists and nine digs.
Maddie Cooper finished with 14 digs and two aces.
Ellie Ramey had a kill, three digs and an ace.
Caldwell also got two digs from T.J. Goodwin.
