
With each set decided by four points or fewer in Thursday’s 8th-District matchup, the Heritage Christian Academy volleyball team topped Hopkinsville 3-0 for the Lady Warriors’ second win in a row.
HCA put the brakes on a three-game skid to improve to 4-10 and reach .500 in district play at 3-3.
A 26-24 victory in the opener put the Lady Warriors on top before a 25-21 result in the second made it 2-0. Hopkinsville pushed HCA throughout the match but fell 25-22 in the final set.
The Lady Tigers slipped to 4-6, 2-4 in district play, with a visit from Webster County scheduled for Monday.
Katie Cansler finished with 12 kills and eight digs for the Lady Warriors, and Bralee Fowler added eight kills and seven digs. Hadlee Hayes also had a big match with seven kills, 11 assists, and 12 digs.
