The University Heights Academy volleyball program is where Heritage Christian Academy aspires to be in a couple of years.

The Lady Blazers rolled to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-14) win Tuesday at Warrior Gym. UHA improved to 12-0 against region competition and 21-2 overall. Tuesday was UHA’s first game after a final-four appearance at the All A Classic State Tournament over the weekend.

The Lady Blazers set-bump-spike attack featured their big hitters at the net.

Olivia Oakley had 11 kills and six aces with Chayse Gilliland adding 10 kills and three aces.

Julia Thomas had nine kills, and Claire Chewning had eight kills as the Lady Blazers got the job done at the net.

Sarah Peebles facilitated the offense to the tune of 27 assists and added three digs.

UHA, a team with nine seniors, improved to 21-2 and will be part of the wRECk at the Plex this weekend.

Katie Cansler and Bralee Fowler each had three kills for the Lady Warriors with Hadlee Hayes leading the team with seven digs. Allie Craft added four digs.

The roster for Heritage doesn’t have any juniors or seniors – akin to UHA two years ago with one senior on its roster.

The Lady Warriors are 6-14 and 3-4 in the district with the inside track at the No. 3 seed in the district tournament. Like UHA, Heritage will play in the wRECk at the Plex this weekend at the Planters Bank/Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex.
