Just as they have in each of the previous 13 meetings in the series, the Madisonville-North Hopkins volleyball team topped Hopkinsville on Tuesday to put the brakes on a seven-match skid.
The 3-0 victory is the sixth straight time the Lady Maroons have blanked the Lady Tigers. Six of Hopkinsville’s seven losses this season have been shutouts.
The Lady Maroons cruised to a 25-16 victory in the opening set, followed by a 25-22 win in the second. Madisonville finished off the match by a score of 25-15 in the third.
Ajayla Shiraef led the Lady Tigers with six kills, three digs, and four aces, and Amy Toms added eight assists. Kendra McMickens finished with a pair of digs and three aces, and Mariana Vieyra chipped in three kills.
Hopkinsville slipped to 4-7 and will host Webster County on Friday. The Lady Trojans were 3-1 winners in the teams’ first matchup this season.
