Lady Tigers Dealt Shutout Defeat at Hopkins Central

After starting the season with six straight losses, the Hopkins County Central girls’ soccer team has five wins in its last eight outings after a 2-0 victory over visiting Hopkinsville on Tuesday.

The win is the Lady Storm’s second straight in the series and handed Hoptown a second shutout defeat in a row.  The Lady Tigers slipped to 7-5-2 with a trip to West Creek, TN, coming up on Thursday.

Lilly Armour and Callie Mackey provided the goals for Hopkins Central, with Ashdyn Dugger assisting on both strikes.  Armour leads the Lady Storm with eight goals this season, and Dugger took her team-leading assist total to six.

Goalkeeper Savannah Barnett earned her fifth shutout of the season, and DeAijah Tullis made eight saves for the Lady Tigers.

Hopkins Central will hit the road to Apollo on Saturday before closing the regular season with home matches against Marshall County and Webster County.
