Trigg County’s Emma Dowell is headed to the State First Round Golf Tournament Monday at Calvert City Country Club.

Dowell earned her spot in the field by shooting a 95 on Wednesday in the girls’ 1st Region Tournament at Paxton Park Golf Course in Paducah.

Dowell’s 46 on the front and 49 on the back were enough to earn her the last qualifying spot. (The top two teams in the regional advance along with the next 10 lowest scores.)

Also playing for Trigg in the regional was Reilyn Berthume, who shot a 114.

Sophie Hollowell of McCracken County was medalist with the only under-par round of the day — a 2-under 69.

Marshall County’s Trinity Beth — the defending state champion — was runner-up with a 74, helping the Lady Marshals win the team championship with a total score of 310.

Mayfield was runner-up at 367, edging McCracken, which placed third with a 369.
