
The Trigg County Lady Wildcats put together two solid sets against McLean County Thursday before ultimately falling in straight sets at Wildcat Gym.
Trigg County rallied in each of the first two sets to put themselves into position to claim the win.
Trigg trailed 21-12 in the opening set and got back to within 24-21 before McLean closed out the set with the 25-21 win.
The Lady Wildcats again fell behind in the second set, facing a 20-13 deficit. Trigg County climbed back into the set and tied it at 22 and 23. Rachel Roberts closed out the set with the deciding point and a 25-23 Lady Cougar win.
Trigg was unable to replicate the momentum in the third set, won by McLean County 25-8.
Grace Carver had two kills and two aces for the Lady Wildcats, while Abby Johnson had three kills. Grace White had two aces, and Ashlynn Koch and Raven Ladd had a pair of kills.
Trigg County (0-15) will close out the regular season next Thursday at Fulton City.
