Karra Tucker wrapped up her high school golf career with a fourth-place finish at the Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac KHSAA State Championship.

The Madisonville-North Hopkins senior shot a 1-over-par 73 on the opening day Tuesday. She had three birdies – all on the back nine – as she came in a 1-under par.

In Wednesday’s second round, Tucker shot 2-under on the front nine and finished with a 3-over-par 75.

Tucker finished seven shots behind the winner, Marshall County’s Trinity Beth, who repeated as state champion by one shot over day one leader Keira Yun of Sacred Heart.

It was Tucker’s fourth state tournament appearance. She tied for seventh last year and was 25th as a sophomore. Tucker has committed to play her college golf at Eastern Kentucky University.

Her Lady Maroon teammate Sydney Browning notched her best state tournament finish on her third and final trip. Browning, a senior, shot identical rounds of 86 to finish at 28-over par and tie for 48th place. Browning was 79th two years ago but missed the postseason last year due to an injury.
