Caldwell County and Christian County were the main event of the first round of the 2nd Region volleyball tournament.

The two teams did not disappoint Tuesday night in Princeton, battling for five sets before a winner was determined.

For the second time in 12 days, Christian County claimed a 15-11 victory in the fifth set to outlast Caldwell County, with this win moving the Lady Colonels into Wednesday’s regional semifinal round.

The Lady Tigers led two sets to one and held a 6-4 lead in the final set before Christian rallied for a 25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-11 triumph.

The other three first-round matches all ended in 3-0 scores.
