Freshmen Trinity Taylor and Piper Cotham each had big nights as Lyon County’s girls picked up a win in their first scrimmage of the season.
Taylor scored 25 points and Cotham had 22 as the Lady Lyons outscored Muhlenberg County 65-44 in action Tuesday night at Jason White Gymnasium in Eddyville.
Lyon won the first three quarters against a shorthanded Lady Mustangs squad.
The Lady Lyons won each frame by scores of 18-10, 15-11 and 18-6 before Muhlenberg took the final quarter 17-14. However, Lyon was making a comeback in the fourth quarter after falling behind early before running out of time.
Lexi Holland added nine points for the Lady Lyons while Jenna Coursey had four, Courtney Collins three and Lilly Perry two.
