After winning the 2nd Region tournament, it is no surprise that the UHA Lady Blazers finished the volleyball season as the highest ranked team in the 2nd Region, a position they held since the second week of the season. The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association released their final rankings of the year this week.
In the 2nd Region, University Heights, which finished with a record of 36-3, landed in the top spot in the region. Runner-up Crittenden County was second in the final rankings.
The Top 5 2nd Region rankings were:
1 – University Heights
2 – Crittenden County
3 – Christian County
4 – Caldwell County (Tie)
4 – Henderson County
Statewide, no 2nd Region team made the final Top 25 rankings. McCracken County, who knocked UHA out of the state tournament in the opening round, was ranked 10th in the final poll.
State champion Assumption was at the top, with runner-up Notre Dame coming in ranked second.
