Senior Jhaden Vaughn will graduate next year with his name firmly implanted in the Trigg County football record book.

He holds the school record for career receiving yards with 2,281 yards, joining Devron Wadlington (2,060) as the only two Wildcats with over 2,000 yards.

Vaughn’s 125 career receptions was 10 more than Jakobe Bridges (2016-19). They are the only two Wildcats with over 100 catches.

His 25 career touchdowns are second-most to Wadlington’s 36.

Vaughn’s four touchdowns against Webster County in 2021 equaled the school record set by Prince Northington in 2002 and Devon Wadlington who did it twice in 2000.

He also had 206 receiving yards which was fifth most by a Wildcat.

Vaughn’s best season was in 2002 when he caught 39 passes for 862 yards (22.1 avg.) and nine touchdowns.

He battled through injury and inconsistent quarterback play in 2023 to catch 37 passes for 388 yards and seven touchdowns.

Vaughn has a half-dozen offers to play football in college and received his first college basketball offer this week.

The 6-foot-4 guard topped the 1,000-point mark last year on the hardwood and should reach 1,000 career rebounds in the coming weeks.
