Though Kentucky may have been challenged at times, the team’s 81-66 victory over the Pennsylvania Quakers was impressive. It was the first true road test of the season for the Wildcats – a team that is full of young players.
That young core took advantage of the opportunity and excelled, as Aaron Bradshaw and Rob Dillingham (17 points each) led the way on offense. Veteran guard Antonio Reeves wasn’t far behind with 16 points, but that was it for Wildcats in double figures.
Kentucky could still improve defensively while also finding a way to close out the first half on a stronger note, but it’s still early on in the season with plenty of time to grow. With that being said, though, the Wildcats will turn around for a CBS Sports Classic matchup against the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels next Saturday in Atlanta.
Tip-off next weekend is set for 5:30 ET with television coverage on CBS. In the meantime, check out photos by Vicky Graff.
