Trigg County’s career sacks leader will take his sack attack to northern Kentucky and play for Thomas More University.
The senior lineman made the announcement Sunday afternoon at the team’s banquet where he received the Mr. Wildcat Award from the coaches based on his all-around play during the 2023 season.
Linton finished his Wildcat career with 21 sacks, breaking Jason Wilson’s mark of 17 from 1986-89.
Linton racked up 11.5 sacks in 2022, breaking the single-season record of 11 set by Kewanis Kennedy in 2004.
In 2023, Linton had 21 solo tackles, 12 for loss, and 6.5 sacks while playing on both sides of the football.
For his career, Linton totaled 52 solo tackles, 30 for loss, and recovered three fumbles.
He earned All-Western Kentucky Conference honors each of his four years as a starter – one of the few Wildcats to accomplish that feat.
Linton said one of the reasons he chose Thomas More was because of the sports management course of study and the chance to intern with college and professional sports teams in the Cincinnati area.
Thomas More recently completed its application to become an NCAA Division II school. Starting this year, they are competing in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
