
Lyon County’s girls took down Lexington Lafayette on Friday to secure a second-place showing in the Kelly Holiday Classic at Bourbon County High School in Paris.
Lexi Holland scored 16 points to lead Lyon, which went 2-1 in the round-robin event.
Christian Academy of Louisville went 3-0 to claim the championship. Lafayette was third at 1-2 while host Bourbon went 0-3.
Lyon (8-4) led at each quarter stop against Lafayette, going up 14-12 after 8 minutes and taking a 31-22 lead to halftime. The Lady Lyons were up 39-31 entering the fourth period.
Trinity Taylor added 12 points for Lyon while Piper Cotham had 11.
Belle Combs scored 17 points to lead the Generals, who are now 7-4.
Lyon’s girls will return home and host Caldwell County Tuesday night.
