Caldwell County’s girls will add a few items to the Lady Tiger Record Book after routing Heritage Christian Academy Monday night in a quarterfinal round game in the 2nd Region All A Classic.
Caldwell started the game with a 43-0 run and limited HCA to just one field goal in the contest while rolling to a 52-3 decision at the CAB gym in Princeton.
The three points is the fewest ever by a Caldwell opponent.
Meanwhile, the 43-0 run ties the longest scoring spree set just Friday night during Caldwell’s 66-9 win at Dawson Springs.
Med Thomas started the game with a 3-pointer and had a game-high 12 points in the contest.
Morgan Aikins hit two 3s in the opening stanza as the Lady Tigers went up 16-0 after 8 minutes.
Thomas had another 3-pointer in the second period as Caldwell built a 29-0 at halftime.
The margin reached 43-0 following a layup by Nyla Sykes with 2:39 left in the third quarter.
The Lady Warriors (1-5) got their only points of the night on the next possession when Kate St. Martin swished a 3 from the right wing.
Caldwell led 47-3 through three quarters in what was the first meeting ever between the two schools in girls’ basketball.
Sykes added 10 points for the Lady Tigers while Aikins finished with nine.
Caldwell now advances to the All A Classic semifinals, which will also be played in Princeton Thursday night.
The Lady Tigers will face Crittenden County in the 6:00 game. The Lady Rockets routed Dawson Springs 50-18 on Monday.
The late semifinal at 7:30 will feature Lyon County, which defeated Livingston Central 56-42 on Monday, and Fort Campbell, which drew a first-round bye.
