There was no first-round upset this year for the Lyon County Lyons in their opening-round matchup in the boys’ 2nd Region All A Classic. The Lyons got off the bus in Marion Tuesday night firing from the parking lot as Lyon County cruised past Crittenden County 104-55 to advance to the semifinals of the All A regional tournament.

‘The Three Amigos’ were a bit like ‘The Four Horsemen’ in the first quarter of the win over the Rockets. Travis Perry, Brady Shoulders, Jack Reddick, and Bray Kirk combined to score 35 points as the Lyons took a 37-18 lead over Crittenden County after the first eight minutes of the contest.

The Lyons knocked down six three-pointers in the first quarter and effectively knocked the Rockets out of the game and the tournament.

The Lyons did not cool down much in the second quarter. Perry and Reddick each scored 9 points as Lyon County put another 28 points on the board in the quarter and the lead ballooned out to 65-26 and the running clock would be in play for the entire second half.

The Lyon County lead would be 83-40 after the third quarter. Travis Perry scored 12 in the third, all coming from behind the 3-point line.

Reserves saw most of the action over the final eight minutes of the game as the Lyons put it on cruise control for the 49-point win.

Travis Perry hit for 32 points to lead Lyon County. Jack Reddick had 21 points. Bray Kirk had one of his best games of the season with 18 points for Lyon County.
