
Trigg County had a pair of wrestlers finish in the top 5 at Saturday’s Steve Johnson Memorial Girls Tournament hosted by Paducah Tilghman.
MaKenna Hendricks won her first four matches with less than a minute spent on the mat in each. She advanced to the championship of the 165-pound class with a pin of Abbrey Dewerff of Edwardsville, Ill.
Hendricks took a medical forfeit in the championship with Fort Campbell’s Brooke Arbic claiming the win.
Skyler Novosselov finished in fourth place in the 145-pound class. Both of her wins were by pin.
With just two wrestlers, Trigg County totaled 42 points and finished in eighth place in the team standings.
