
Caldwell County’s Jaydarius Wilson scored a career-high 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Tuesday night as the Tigers rolled past Fort Campbell 75-33 at the CAB gym in Princeton.
In two wins over the Falcons this season, the Caldwell junior has totaled 62 points and 27 boards.
The Tigers scored the first 16 points of the night Tuesday as part of a 26-2 run to open the contest.
Caldwell, now 9-6, led 33-15 at halftime then hit Fort Campbell with another 16-0 burst to start the second half.
The Tigers led 54-28 through three quarters. The final 42-point margin was the largest of the night.
Wilson’s 34 points top his previous best — a 31-point effort in a win over South Panola (Miss.) last month.
Carter Whittington added 12 points for the Tigers while Kam Wilson had nine points and six rebounds. Jack Roach also had nine points.
Lashaad Smiley had 12 points to lead Fort Campbell, which is now 4-7. Jamile Wilson had eight points.
Caldwell, which is 6-2 in its last eight games, shot 61.2 percent in the contest, making 30 of 49 field goal attempts.
Fort Campbell, meanwhile, was only 12 of 42 for 28.6 percent.
Caldwell has won seven straight against the Falcons and nine of the last 10 meetings. The Tigers lead the all-time series 21-7.
Fort Campbell will next play at home Friday night when it hosts Daviess County.
Caldwell County has an important 7th District doubleheader coming on Friday when it hosts Madisonville-North Hopkins. It’s Homecoming that night, so the boys will play the first game at 6:00 with the Homecoming ceremony between games.
