
A big second quarter was enough to send visiting East Robertson, TN to a 75-55 victory over hosts Todd County Central on Tuesday, the Lady Rebels third-straight defeat and sixth in their last seven games.
Jordyn Shemwell and JaMya Kay combined for ten early points for the Lady Rebels, but Ida Barnard and Allye Pennington matched them to help East Robertson lead 15-13 after the first quarter.
Shemwell continued to carry the scoring load in the second frame with seven points, but the Lady Rebels were outscored 24-9 to trail 39-22 at the halftime break. Barnard knocked down a pair of three-pointers to score eight more points and Katie Pennington added seven for the Indians.
Barnard was on target again with seven points to start the second half, and Allye Pennington poured in 12 to extend the lead. The Lady Rebels got six points in the third from Kathryn Ballard and Shemwell scored five.
Todd Central outscored the Indians 15-13 in the fourth, with Alexis Taylor posting seven of her 14. Shemwell led the Lady Rebels with 18, and Kay finished with nine.
The Lady Rebels slipped to 12-9 ahead of a rematch with Logan County on Friday. The Lady Cougars won the first matchup 55-53 for their third straight in the series.
Allye Pennington scored a game-high 28, Barnard finished with 24, and Katie Pennington added 14.
