
Coming off a big win over 5th District rival Crittenden County Friday night, the Lyon County Lady Lyons ran into a buzzsaw in the form of the Henderson County Lady Colonels Saturday. Henderson limited the Lady Lyons to less than 10 points in each quarter as the Lady Colonels rolled to a 52-26 win in Eddyville.
Henderson County was in control of the game from the beginning, jumping out to a 19-6 first-quarter lead. The margin grew to 35-12 at the half.
Things did not get much better for the Lady Lyons as the second half got rolling. Henderson County, for the 3rd straight quarter, held Lyon County to just six points, as the Lady Colonel ran the lead out to 52-18. From there it was simply a matter of the final score.
Trinity Taylor was the only Lady Lyon to reach double figures with 10 points. Jenna Coursey finished with 6.
Addy Gish topped the Henderson County scoring column with 16 points. A’Tylia Green also reached double figures with 15.
Lyon County falls to 14-8 with the loss. The Lady Lyons travel to Trigg County Tuesday looking to lock up the top seed for the 5th District tournament.
