A night after snapping a three-game skid with an overtime victory over Logan County, it took the Todd County Central boys’ basketball team a quarter to find their legs on Saturday.  Unfortunately, those eight minutes proved decisive in a 60-47 loss to McCracken County at the US Bank Shootout at Graves County.

The Mustangs got out to an early lead on the way to a fifth win in six outings, with Connor Miller knocking down a pair of three-pointers for 12 first-quarter points and a 14-4 McCracken lead.

Fresh off a 36-point performance on Friday night, Jamison Glass scored four points in the second quarter for the Rebels and Devin Schutt added a pair of three-pointers.  But Dylan Jackson answered with six points in the frame to give the Mustangs a 31-21 halftime advantage.

Glass continued to build momentum with seven points in the third, but Jackson Klope and Miller combined for ten for the Mustangs to stretch the margin to 13 points with a quarter to play.

Glass posted half of the Rebels’ 16 points in the fourth to finish with a game-high 21.  Jackson scored five and Klope added four to help the Mustangs see out the victory.

Miller finished with 20 points to lead McCracken, Klope scored 15, and Jackson added 11.

The Rebels slipped to 9-12 with a fourth loss in five games ahead of a trip to Russellville on Friday.  Todd Central took the first meeting with the Panthers 61-52 in Elkton.
