Big 2nd Quarter Sends Lady Rockets Past Caldwell

A big second quarter helped Crittenden County’s girls defeat Caldwell County 60-39 Saturday afternoon in Marion.

The Lady Rockets edged ahead 15-10 after 8 minutes, but then seized full control of the contest in the second period. Crittenden used a 23-7 advantage in the frame to build a 38-17 advantage at halftime.

Anna Boone scored 21 of her game-high 25 points in the first half for the Lady Rockets. Jordyn Hodge added 10 points.

Caldwell (6-15) did not have anyone score in double figures. Tink Clark, Med Thomas and Brylee Butts each had nine.

It was Crittenden’s third win over Caldwell this season.

The Lady Rockets have taken five straight from the Lady Tigers and seven of the last eight meetings.

Caldwell still leads the all-time series between the two schools 78-30.

The Lady Tigers will next go to Madisonville-North Hopkins on Tuesday as part of a girls and boys 7th District doubleheader.
