Quarles’ 36 Point Night Carries UHA Past Ballard Memorial

The University Heights Academy Blazers picked up their second win in as many nights Tuesday. The Blazers went on the road and got a huge game from Quinton Quarles as UHA cruised past Ballar Memorial 74-57.

With Quarles scoring 12 points in the opening quarter, UHA jumped out to a 23-15 lead after the first eight minutes of the game.

Quarles kept firing in the second quarter, adding 10 more points to his first-half total as the Blazers extended the lead to 41-31 at the half.

The two teams came out of the half and played an even third quarter, until the final minute. UHA finished the third by scoring the final eight points to extend the lead to 57-39.

The Blazers were then able to keep the Bombers at arm’s length over the final quarter of the contest.

Quinton Quarles led UHA with 36 points. Elijah Walton also reached double figures with 16.

Jace Birney was the only Ballard Memorial player to hit double digits with 22.

UHA improves to 17-5 and now gets ready for a big 8th District showdown with the Hopkinsville Tigers on Friday night.
