There are those nights on the basketball court where an opponent shoots the ball so well that there is just not much you can do about it. That scenario befell the Todd County Central Rebels on the road Monday night.
The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots shot 68.8 percent in the first half as they took a 79-62 win over the Todd County Central Lady Rebels.
The win for the Lady Patriots put an end to the Lady Rebels’ two-game winning streak and gives ACS a 24-10 lead in the all-time series between the two teams.
Allen County-Scottsville was hitting on all cylinders from the opening tip. The Lady Patriots put 26 points in the board in the opening quarter, taking a 26-10 lead.
ACS did not even tap the brakes in the second quarter. The Lady Patriots put up 28 more in the second as they took a 54-27 lead into the break.
A huge first half for the Lady Patriots’ Avery Morris, who scored 25 points in the half.
Things did not get better for the Lady Rebels in the third as ACS pushed the lead out to 70-40 heading into the final quarter. At that point, it was just a matter of setting the final score.
Avery Morris scored just four more points in the second half but ended up with 29 for the night. Aubrey Naiser chipped in with 14 for the Lady Patriots.
Todd County Central drops to 14-10 with the loss. The Lady Rebels are set to get back to action Friday night when they host Warren Central.
