
Cory Coble’s return to Wildcat Gym was a triumphant one as his Union County Bravettes beat Trigg County 65-25 on Tuesday.
Coble won 82 games as Trigg’s coach from 2016-22 which included three district championships before taking the Union County job before last season.
Union County used a 20-3 first half run fueled by six 3-pointers to build a 35-13 lead. In addition to their acumen from the outside, the Bravettes outscored Trigg County 32-8 in the paint and outrebounded the Lady Wildcats 32-20.
Lillian Goodloe knocked down a trio of threes to score 16 points – double her season average. Paige Steward added 12 points, and Dana Curry had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Trigg County got 10 points from A.J. Navarro and eight points from Evonna McGee.
Union’s 40-point win was the largest in the 18-game series history, which Union leads 13-5.
Trigg County will play at Ballard Memorial on Friday.
