This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for games played during the week of February 5 is University Heights Academy’s Gavin Grubbs. Gavin was selected based on his performance in the Blazers’ 8th District win in Blazer Gym over their crosstown rivals, the Hopkinsville Tigers.
He scored 28 points to lead University Heights to the 81-79 overtime win. Not only that, he hit the three-point shot at the end of regulation that sent the game to overtime, and then hit the game-winning shot during the extra period.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County based on their performance in a big game that week.
