It has been a while since the Todd County Central Lady Rebels made an appearance in the girls’ 4th Region tournament. The Lady Rebels are hoping to change that this week as the 13th District tournament gets underway at Russellville High School.

The last time the Lady Rebels won a district tournament game and moved on to the 13th Region tourney was 2018 when they beat Russellville 56-36 and advanced to the district title game, where they fell to Logan County. The Lady Rebels would go on to lose to South Warren in the girls’ 4th Region tournament.

Todd Central’s quest to change recent history will begin Tuesday night at 6pm at Russellville High School as the Lady Rebels (16-11) take on Logan County (15-14) in the district semifinals.

The two teams split their regular season meetings. The Lady Cougars took a 2-point win on their home floor, while the Lady Rebels won by 13 in Elkton on February 2.

The 13th District tournament gets underway Monday night as tourney host Russellville (2-25) takes on regional contender Franklin-Simpson (27-1). The Lady Wildcats handily won the two regular season games between the teams. Franklin-Simpson’s only loss this season came to Boyd County in the Kentucky 2A championships.

The girls’ 13th District championship game will be played Thursday evening at 7:00 at Russellville High School.
