While he is a defending state track champion, college football is in the future for one Fort Campbell High School athlete. Senior Maurice Moore officially signed his papers to play college football with Georgetown College during a ceremony Friday afternoon in the auditorium at Fort Campbell High School.
Moore caught 50 passes during the 2023 season for 881 yards and 18 touchdowns. He returned two kickoffs and one punt for scores during the season, giving him 21 total touchdowns. He also scored two 2-point conversions.
Moore was no slouch on defense either, finishing with 88 tackles and two interceptions.
During the Falcons regular-season finale against Webster County, he caught 13 passes for 255 yards and five touchdowns.
While he signed to play football, Moore is also hoping to get some time on the track, Last spring, he won the Class A 400-meter state championship.
