Colonels Strong in Middle Distance, Field Events at Season Opener

Christian County used a strong day in middle distance and field events to claim fifth place at Saturday’s Henderson’s Mom Clinic Colonel Classic.

The Colonels finished in fifth place with 57 points, one more than sixth place Calloway County.

Christopher McCarley was third in the shot put with a personal-best distance of 42-feet, 8.5 inches, and was third in the discus throw at 127-04.

Michael Webb was fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:11.12.

Kristen Johnson was fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.65 seconds and came in seventh in the 100-meter dash in 11.60 seconds.

Cayden Cline was fifth in the 3200-meter run in 11:09.09 and was 10th in the 1600 meters in a personal best time of 5:01.59.

Wyatt Fleming was ninth in the 400-meter dash in 55.12 seconds.

Hector Munoz was 12th in the 400-meter dash in a personal best time of 58.93 seconds.

Jermaine Dove was 10th in the 200-meter dash in 24.57 seconds and was 18th in the 100-meter dash in 12.08 seconds.

Aiden Knepper was 18th in the 3200-meter dash in 13:11.13. He was also 20th in the 800-meter run in 2:35.77 and was 27th in the 1600-meter run in a personal best time of 5:50.16.

Treshawn Crenshaw was 23rd in the discus throw (61-08) and was 24th in the shot put in 27-03.

The 3200-meter relay team finished in second place in 8:58.11, about 10 seconds behind the race winner Daviess County.

The 800-meter relay team also came in second place in a time of 1:36.18, nipped by less than a second by Apollo for the win.

The 1600-meter relay team came in third place at 3:53.15.
