Caldwell County had to rally from behind to extend its winning streak to six games on Friday.

Down 4-0 early at Webster County, the Tigers battled back to claim a 6-5 victory over the Trojans.

Caldwell, now 7-1, next goes to Dawson Springs for a 7th District tilt on Monday.

Webster (3-2) got off to a quick start with three runs in the first inning and another in the second.

But Caldwell cut the deficit in half in the top of the third when Cole Slone singled home one run and another scored on a wild pitch.

The Tigers then put up four runs in the fourth to take the lead. Parker doubled home two runs to tie it 4-4. Slone singled home a run to push Caldwell in front. Westin King delivered a sacrifice fly to center to make it 6-4.

Webster cut the gap to one run in the bottom of the sixth, then put its first two hitters on base in the bottom of the seventh.

However, a fly out to left, a strikeout and a liner to second left those runners stranded and allowed Caldwell to get out of Dixon with the one-run victory.

Ethan Ramage picked up the pitching win for the Tigers with 3.2 innings of work in relief. He did not allow a hit, but gave up one earned run on four walks while striking out three.

Scott Cortner came in to get the final two outs of the night to earn the save.

Parker was 2-for-2 at the plate with a pair of doubles and two RBIs for the Tigers. Collin Whittington was 2-for-3 while Slone was 2-for-4 and knocked in two. King and Ari Wells each had doubles.

Caldwell has taken nine of its last 10 matchups with Webster. The Tigers lead the all-time series 25-19.
