Trigg County was held to just one base hit in a 7-1 baseball setback at McLean County on Friday.
Still, the Wildcats held an early 1-0 lead before a five-run second inning sent McLean (4-2) on its way to victory.
Aidon Butts singled to lead off the game for Trigg and later scored on a groundout by Haydon Reynolds to put Trigg on top.
McLean, though, sent 10 men to the plate in the home half of the second to take a 5-1 lead.
The Cougars added single tallies in the fourth and fifth to push the margin to 7-1.
Hayden Hudson tossed the first five innings for McLean, allowing just the one run on one hit while striking out three and walking none.
Corbin Martin fanned four and walked one over the final two innings to nail down the win.
Hudson was also 2-for-3 at the plate for the Cougars.
Reynolds, the Trigg starter, suffered the pitching loss.
The Wildcats are now 4-3. They will next host Hopkinsville on Monday.
