
Trigg County hosted its Prickly Peach Invitational Saturday at the Trigg Recreation Complex, but the Lady Wildcats dropped tilts against Caldwell County and Muhlenberg County.
Down 4-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning against Caldwell, Trigg rallied to tie the game
Livia Breckel knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly, then Kiley Slone doubled home two runs with two outs to make it a one-run game. MaKenna Hendricks followed with another double to plate Slone and tie things at 4-4.
But Caldwell (5-3) countered with a five-run seventh, then held on for a 9-5 triumph.
Hendricks, Slone and Tember Oliver each had doubles for Trigg.
The Lady Wildcats then suffered a 12-6 setback to Muhlenberg County (4-2).
Trigg (5-5) led that game 2-0 early, but the Lady Mustangs put up five runs in the bottom of the first, then added three runs in each of the second and third innings to go up 11-4.
Slone was 4-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in to lead the Lady Wildcats at the plate. Hendricks went 2-for-4 with a double. Kady Fuller was 1-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs.
Trigg’s girls have a 5th District date coming up on Monday when they host Lyon County.
