UHA Lady Blazers Outslug Hopkinsville 32-20

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers and the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers tested all of the lights on the softball scoreboard at Hopkinsville High School Tuesday evening. Both teams scored in every at-bat, but it was a 14 run top of th 6th inning for the Lady Blazers that turned out to be the difference as UHA took a 32-20 win in six innings.

The game featured big numbers all over the place. UHA had 12 hits while the Lady Tigers had 11 hits. Each team had three innings where they scored at least five runs.

There were also some big numbers that were not quite as positive. Hopkinsville pitching gave up 19 walks and hit 14 batters.

University Heights pitching also had its struggles, giving up 15 walks and hitting 5 batters.

Gracie Ausenbaugh had a big night for the Lady Blazers, finshing with two hits and four RBIs. Krista Keller added five hits and two RBIs. Emily Dilday contributed two hits and three RBIs.

For Hopkinsville, Malaih Miller had three hits. Asiayana Holman added two hits and two RBIs. Trinity Shumate finished with two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Hopkinsville falls to 0-7 with the loss, while UHA improves to 2-2 with the high-scoring win.
