Wildcats Place Seventh at Calloway County Invite

The Trigg County boys’ track and field team finished in seventh place at Saturday’s Calloway County Laker Invite.

Trigg performed well in the middle-distance events, led by Riley Thompson who was third in the 3200-meter dash with a time of 11:46.89.

Brody Renfroe was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:18.27.

Matthew Reeves was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 56.98 seconds.

Deonatae Edison was ninth in the 110-meter hurdles in 20.85 seconds and 13th in the 300-meter hurdles in 59.12 seconds.

Braxton Hargrove was ninth in the 300-meter hurdles in 49.58 seconds and 10th in the 110-meter hurdles in 21.16 seconds.

Carter Shepherd was ninth in the 200-meter dash in 24.94 seconds and 15th in the 100-meter dash in 12.41 seconds.

Grant Gallogly was ninth in the 3200-meter run in 12:50.42 and was 18th in the 1600-meter run in 5:55.68.

Dekon Perry was 10th in the 400-meter dash in 57.86 seconds and 12th in the 800 meters in 2:26.22.

Jeremiah Lawrence was 16th in the 800-meter run in 2:32.58.

Cameron Sanders was 16th in the 200-meter dash and 17th in the 100-meter dash in 12.88 seconds.

Toby Finley was 23rd in the 1600-meter run in 6:39.72.

The 3200-meter relay team of Dekon Perry, Brody Renfroe, Riley Thompson, and Matthew Reeves finished second in 9:06.23.

The 800-meter relay team of Carter Shepherd, Cameron Sanders, Braxton Hargrove, and Matthew Reeves came in sixth place in 1:41.89.

The 1600-meter relay team of Braxton Hargrove, Brody Renfroe, Matthew Reeves, and Dekon Perry came in sixth place with a time of 3:55.40.

In the field events, Matthew Reeves was fifth in the high jump at 5-06.

TayShaun Linton was 13th in the shot put with a heave of 33-08.5 and was 15th in the discus throw at 85-10.

Connor Fitzhugh was 21st in the long jump at 12-05.75.

Thomas Lingenfelter came in 27th place in the shot put at 21-03 and was 27th in the discus throw at 50-04.

Trigg County’s team total of 33 points was a half-point ahead of eighth-place Logan County.

Richton Park, Ill. won the team title with 131.5 points, beating out second-place Calloway County (123).
