Caldwell County’s Jaydarius Wilson will enter his senior basketball season next year with a chance to move into the Top 10 on the Tigers’ all-time scoring list and could make a run at the Top 5.
Wilson became the 21st member of the Tigers’ 1,000-points club in March and is No. 21 on the all-time list with 1,017 points.
Wilson scored 667 points as a junior while averaging 20.8 points a contest.
He would probably need to average over 30 points a game as a senior to become just the fourth Tiger to score as much as 2,000 points. However, with another year similar to 2023-24, Wilson would pass Jabrion Spikes (1,434) for sixth.
Matt Fraliex is Caldwell’s all-time scorer with 2,941 career points, followed by Michael Fraliex (2,896), Mike Gray (2,406), Derrin Boyd (1,911) and Carrell Boyd (1,819).
Wilson also grabbed 345 rebounds this past season, which was the third-most in one season at Caldwell.
Wilson is 11th on Caldwell’s all-time rebounding list with 536 boards. He has a shot to become just the third Tiger to record 1,000 rebounds and figures a strong bet to get to third all-time — behind only Michael Gray (1,193) and Eli Pepper (1,172).
Another Tiger who will be a senior next season has a shot to become the 22nd player with at least 1,000 points. Collin Whittington is 31st on the all-time list with 791 points. He scored 212 points this season.
Meanwhile, Caldwell County’s girls have some players who could join the 1,000-points list in the future.
Brylee Butts is 43rd on the career chart with 635 points. She scored 342 points as a junior this past season.
Tink Clark is 48th with 592 points while Med Thomas is 53rd with 530. Both of those players were freshmen this season.
Abbey Benton is the Lady Tigers’ all-time leading scorer with 2,001 points. The rest of the top five is Lele Rodgers (1,682), Leah Martin (1,554), Melly Heaton (1,481) and Jacey Jaggers (1,451).
