This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of April 1 is University Heights Academy’s Hayden Hunt. Hunt was selected based on his performance in the Blazers’ win over Daviess County on April 4 in the Fort Walton Beach Bash.

Hayden was on fire on the mound in the win over the Panthers. He threw a complete-game no-hitter at the Daviess County Panthers as the Blazers finished off their appearance in the Fort Walton Beach Bash with a 2-0 win. He finished with 10 strikeouts and just one walk.

He also got out of two tight jams to pick up the win, in the top of the 5th inning and in the 6th inning. Hunt would finish the game in the seventh by setting down Daviess County in order, striking out the final two batters of the game.

The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game for their team that week.

  1. Now that the top coaches shunned us, i feel that mark pope deserves a chance, he’s a good coach, plays changing defenses and has a uptempo offense in tune with today’s college game. my only fear is what kind of recruiter he’ll be. hire a good staff and bring in transfers who can shoot and defend, sprinkle in some top level high school players and we should be good to go. good riddance to cal for being mr nba and not adjusting to today’s college game, i got so tired of his nba first approach , won’t miss that at all.
