Lady Rebels Power past Lady Blazers in Five Innings

The hit of the game belonged to University Heights Academy’s Chayse Gilliland but the rest of the game belonged entirely to the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels put 10 runs on the board in the bottom of the third inning as they rolled to a 15-1 five-inning win Monday evening in Elkton.

The Lady Rebels came up with 10 hits and took advantage of four Lady Blazer errors to pick up the win.

After being shutout in the first, Todd County Central scored four in the second, ten in the third, and one more in the bottom of the fourth.

Addison Woodall led the attack for the Lady Rebels going 3-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Jocelyn Mock finished 2-2 with a double, two RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Naomi Gammon was 1-4 with a double and four RBIs.

The Lady Blazers were limited to just two hits in the game. One of those was a monster home run in the top of the third that Chayse Gilliland blasted into centerfield, over the high centerfield fence into the middle of the scoreboard.

Krista Keller had the other hit in the game for the Lady Blazers.

7th grader Abby Craig got the win in the circle for the Lady Rebels. Craig went three innings, giving up just one run on one hit, striking out six and walking three.

Chayse Gilliland was charged with the loss for the Lady Blazers. She went three innings, giving up 14 runs, only six of them earned, striking out four and walking four.
