Tember Oliver threw a complete game one-hitter and the Trigg County Lady Wildcats never trailed Friday night as they took a 4-1 win over Apollo in their opening game of the 2024 Owensboro Catholic Classic. The game was the first for the Lady Wildcats since last Friday night.
Oliver was on her game from the very beginning against the E-Gals, setting down the first 13 batters she faced. An error, followed by a double in the bottom of the fifth generated the only run of the game for Apollo.
By that time however, Trigg County had scored four runs, three in the top of the third and one more in the top of the fourth on RBI singles from Brynlee Smock, Kiley Slone, and an Apollo error.
Five different Lady Wildcats had one hit each in the game, as Trigg County out hit Apollo 5 to 1.
Both teams had issues in the field as Trigg County was charged with three errors and Apollo with four.
Tember Oliver struck out six and walked none in picking up the win.
