
Fort Campbell warmed up for the region track and field meet later this month with a school record in a relay and 11 personal bests at Saturday’s Area 1 Championship at Paducah Tilghman.
RUNNING EVENTS
Maurice Moore, the defending Class A state champion in the 400 meters, was edged at the finish line in Saturday’s 400 by Hopkinsville’s Gavin Alston. Moore’s time of 49.85 seconds was a personal best and sixth fastest in school history.
Moore also came in third place in the 100-meter dash in 11.19 seconds.

Sam Atoubi ran a personal best time of 15.61 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to finish in second place.
Ryker Kramer brought home a sixth-place finish in the 3200-meter dash in a personal best 11:37.84
Mateo Cerritos-Gatto was ninth in the 400 meters in 52.58 seconds.
Keshawn Dixon finished in 10th place in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 18.38 seconds.
J.C. Perryman was 11th in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 11.45 seconds.
Andrew Bennett was 11th in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 2:10.75.
Jordan Herrera was 13th in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 24.09 seconds.
Jacob Cabe was 15th in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.89 seconds.
Jayden Perry was 16th in the 800-meter dash in 2:16.44.
McKenzie Andrews was 18th in the 200 meters in 24.73 seconds.
RELAYS
Fort Campbell’s 800-meter relay team set a school record last week and then bested that mark on Saturday. The team of Mateo Cerritos-Gatto, J.C. Perryman, Maurice Moore, and Andrews won the event in 1:29.97 and became the first Fort Campbell 800-meter team to run under 1:30.
The 1600-meter relay team of Sam Atoubi, Maurice Moore, Mateo Cerritos-Gatto, and McKenzie Andrews finished as runner-up with a time of 3:28.85.
The 3200-meter relay team of Andrew Bennett, Hiram Cintron, Ryker Kramer, and Jaden Perry came in fourth place with a time of 8:49.10.
The 400-meter relay team of McKenzie Andrews, Keshawn Dixon, J.C. Perryman, and Kaden Herrera ran a season-best time of 45.44 seconds to come in sixth place.

FIELD EVENTS
A pair of Falcons battled it out for the championship of the high jump with both surpassing their previous personal best heights.
Tyreek Anthony cleared 6-4 to claim the title. It was the third-best height in school history. Jerry Bailey set the school mark of 6-8 at the 1980 state meet.
Freshman Leaf DeWitt topped 6-2 to beat her previous best by a half-foot.
Lyndell Smith was ninth in the discus throw at 118-06.
J.C. Perryman was sixth in the long jump at 19-09.75.
Sam Atoubi was seventh in the long jump with a new personal best of 19-09.
Keshawn Dixon was 12th in the discus throw at 114-02.
Mateo Cerritos-Gatto was 12th in the triple jump at 38-02.25.
Jaeden Carolina was 15th in the shot put at 34-09.50.
Sam Atoubi was 15th in the triple jump at 36-07.
Eric Marr was 15th in the pole vault with a new personal best of 8-6.
Jacob Cabe was 16th in the pole vault at eight feet.
Dayten Payne was 16th in the shot put at 34-04.50.
As a team, Fort Campbell finished in fourth place with 74 points, four fewer than third-place Paducah Tilghman.
