University Heights Academy scored six personal bests at Saturday’s Area 1 Championship at Paducah Tilghman and finished in 11th place in the event that features nearly every Region 1 school in all three classes.
RUNNING EVENTS
Clayton Lester was fifth in the 400-meter dash in a personal best time of 51.71 seconds.
Logan Miller tallied a personal best time in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.34 seconds, good for a sixth-place finish. He finished in fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.96 seconds.
Jude Finch came in seventh place in the 3200 meters with a personal best time of 11:54.89.
Clayton Lester ran a personal best time of 11.44 seconds in the 100-meter dash to finish in 10th place. He also came in ninth in the 200-meter dash (23.36).
Graham Conrad was 13th in the 1600-meter run in 5:27.51.
Griffin McCoy was fourth in the 400 meters in a personal best time of 51.42 seconds. He came in sixth place in the 200-meter dash in 22.94 seconds and was 15th in the 100-meter dash in 11.59 seconds.
Zach Davis was 21st in the 800-meter dash in 2:21.18.
Jack Cavanah was 29th in the 800 meters in 2:46.19.
RELAYS
The 3200-meter relay team of Jack Cavanah, Conrad, Davis, and Jude Finch ran a season-best time of 10:03.57 to place 10th.
FIELD EVENTS
Griffin McCoy won the long jump with a personal best of 20-10.50. His jump is the third-best in school history and trails the record of Isiah Pantierre by less than a foot.
