Caldwell County’s girls were held to just two base hits Thursday in a 6-2 setback at Graves County.

Anna Rogers struck out 11 as the Lady Eagles improved to 17-13.

The Lady Tigers (16-13) got off to a good start in the top of the first inning.

Harper Holeman walked with one out, then Alicia Stanley hit her ninth home run of the season to left field to quickly put Caldwell on top 2-0.

Graves tied things in the bottom of the fourth on RBI doubles by Brooklyn Cole and Roxie Fisher.

A four-run fifth then put the Lady Eagles in front for good.

Cole singled home two runs to put Graves up 4-2. Fisher’s two-out single to left brought in two more runs to extend the margin to 6-2.

Fisher finished 3-for-3 with three runs batted in while Cole was 2-for-3 and drove in three. Ginger Martin was 2-for-4.

Adley Lewis had a single for Caldwell.

The Lady Tigers are headed to Lexington on Saturday to play two games in the Tates Creek Showdown. Caldwell is scheduled to face Louisville Male and Fort Thomas Highlands.
