Coming off a tough loss to Hancock County Friday night, the Lyon County Lady Lyons split a pair of games Saturday as they finished play in the 2024 Team Lauren Cancer Awareness Tournament. The Lady Lyons lost a tight game to Heritage Hills and then came back to run away from Pleasure Ridge Park.

After falling behind by four runs, a Lyon County rally came up just short in the opener as the Lady Lyons fell to Heritage Hills 4-2. The Lady Lyons entered the final inning trailing 4-0 before they made a late comeback attempt.

Lauren Davis, Courtney Collins, and Lilly Perry singled back-to-back-to-back with one out to load the bases. A double from Jenna Coursey scored Davis and Collins to cut the lead in half and give the Lady Lyons the tying run at 2nd base with the go-ahead run coming to the plate.

However, Heritage Hills was able to get Gracen Wynn to ground out and then Emma Brasher popped out to right to end the comeback attempt for the Lady Lyons.

Lauren Davis and Courtney Collins were both 3-4 with a run scored. Jenna Coursey was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Lilly Perry took the loss in the circle, going 6 innings and giving up 4 runs, just two of the earned, on six hits, striking out two and walking one.

The Lady Lyons rebounded in their second game of the day by taking out the frustrations of the opener on Pleasure Ridge Park. The Lady Lyons pounded out 15 hits on their way to an 11-1 six-inning win over the Lady Panthers.

The game was tied 1-1 going into the third inning when the sky came crashing down on PRP.

Lyon County scored four times in the top of the third to make it 5-1. Lauren Davis had an RBI triple while Courtney Collins and Emma Brasher drove in runs with singles.

The Lady Lyons then delivered the knockout shot in the top of the fourth with four more runs. The big blow in the inning was a two-run double from Lilly Perry.

Lyon County added two runs in the top of the sixth on a double from Jenna Coursey and a single from Emma Brasher.

Lauren Davis finished 3-4 with an RBI and three runs scored. Courtney Collins was 3-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Lilly Perry, Emma Brasher, and Olivia Moore added two hits each for Lyon County.

Lilly Perry went all six innings in the circle, giving up one unearned run on four hits, striking out six and walking none.

With the Saturday split, the Lady Lyons now stand at 13-16 on the season.
