Trailing Madisonville-North Hopkins 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Caldwell County clawed out two runs to claim the 7th District championship Tuesday night in Mortons Gap.
With the bases loaded and nobody out, Carter Whittington hit a high chopper to second. Daelyn Lander beat the throw to the plate to tie the game. When the throw got away, Drew Stevens sprinted home with the game-winner.
