Brooklyn DeLeye had a remarkable freshman season for Kentucky volleyball and became only the fourth UK player to win the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association Region Freshman of the Year. She joined a prestigious list of All-Americans with Emma Grome, Madison Lilley and Leah Edmond that had won the same award.
Now the sophomore outside hitter has been named to the 2024 United States Volleyball U-21 National Team and will compete in the 2024 NORCECA Women’s U21 Continental Championship in Toronto.
The United States will play three matches beginning today and running through the 27th before the tournament quarterfinals, semifinals and placement matches take place on June 30.
DeLeye, the 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year, was one of the offensive statistical leaders for the Wildcats as averaged 3.92 points per set, 3.69 kills per set and a .287 hitting percentage as one of Kentucky’s most potent offensive weapons.
