UHA Takes First Step on Path to 9th Straight All A Title

University Heights Academy took its first step toward a ninth-straight 2nd Region All A Classic soccer championship Monday night.

The Blazers scored eight goals in the first 37 minutes and shut out Lyon County 8-0 in a match stopped at halftime because of the mercy rule.

UHA (2-1) will next face Heritage Christian Academy (0-2) in Tuesday’s 7:30 p.m. semifinal in Eddyville.

Hayden Hunt scored the first three goals of Monday’s game and had his hat trick by the 12th minute.

Clayton Lester made it 4-0 in the 16th minute on a blast from just outside the top of the box.

Harlow Hampton scored in the 24th minute, getting help from Logan Miller to extend the margin to 5-0.

Two minutes later, Lincoln Hauret scored on a shot from the top of the box to make it 6-0.

Cal Givens found the net in the 27th minute, and Jayden Williamson scored in the 37th minute to give the Blazers their 8-0 lead.

UHA held a 32-2 advantage in shots in the contest.

Will Dunning made 16 saves in the Lyon net.

Eli Finch and Hayden Fitzsimmons each had one save for the Blazers in the shutout.
