Dakota Evans opened his junior season for the Madisonville-North Hopkins cross country team on Saturday with a third place at the Christian County Season Opener.
He ran with the lead group of Murray’s Guevenson Binfield-Smith and University Heights Academy’s Cole Glover for the entire race and finished with a time of 17:31 on the rolling 31-mile course.
Aaron Hibbs came in 93rd place in 25:04, and Braiden Thompson was 94th in 25:13. Jon McCay was 136th in 36:06.
University Heights Academy’s Cole Glover won the race in 17:20.
The Maroons did not field the five runners necessary to enter a team score.
