
The Hopkins County Central girls made a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, this weekend and turned in a 1-1-1 showing in the 2024 Smoky Mountain Cup.
The Lady Storm got off to a good start with a 2-1 victory over Macon County (Tennessee) on Friday.
Jaci Childress and Emma Vandiver had goals in the triumph.
Hopkins Central then faced Providence Academy from Johnson City, Tennessee, on Saturday morning. However, the Lady Storm fell to the Lady Knights 3-0.
The Lady Storm then played Bradley Central (Tennessee) later Saturday, with that match ending in a scoreless draw.
Hopkins Central’s girls (3-2-1) will next face Murray (4-1-1) on Monday in a Kentucky 2A Championships sectional semifinal match at the Trigg Recreational Complex.
