
After playing to a draw Saturday with Logan County and just missing their first win of the season, the Heritage Christian Academy Warriors finished the deal Thursday evening. Junior Kallan Davis scored not one, but two hat tricks plus a goal to spare as he rang up every goal for the Warriors in a 7-3 home win over Lyon County.
Davis nearly had a hat trick in each half. He scored twice in the first 40 minutes as the Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the opening half.
Lyon County battled back to score a goal late in the half from Grady Walker to trim the lead to 2-1.
Davis completed his first hat trick with a goal in the opening minute of the half to make it 3-1. Lucas Weiss assisted on the goal.
Davis scored on a penalty kick four minutes later to extend the lead back out to three goals at 4-1. He then broke free on a runout just over two minutes later to make it a 5-1 lead.
Kallan Davis then finished out his second hat trick with a goal with just over six minutes left in the match to make it 6-1.
The Lyons got two goals in a span of 2 ½ minutes from Grady Walker and Will Dunning to get within 6-3.
Davis then beat a Lyon County defender in the middle of the field for his seventh and final goal of the night to close out the scoring at 7-3.
Lyon County got two goals from Grady Walker to lead their attack.
HCA goes to 1-3-1 with the win. The Warriors host Hopkins County Central Tuesday.
Lyon County falls to 0-5 with the loss. The Lyons are set to host Massac County Friday night at Lee S. Jones Park.
