One thing is sure about Saturday’s 2nd Region All A Classic volleyball tournament. And that is history will be made, regardless of who takes the title at the end of the morning at Heritage Christian Academy.

Since the All A Classic added volleyball as one of its sports in 2009, only two schools have won the 2nd Region title. Those schools are Caldwell County and University Height Academy.

Caldwell County won titles 2009 through 2013. UHA won in 2014. Caldwell County won the championship 2015-2017. The Lady Blazers broke that string by winning the title in 2018.

Caldwell County then won in 2019, 2020, and 2021. University Heights won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023.

Neither will be playing Saturday in the semifinals.

Caldwell County has elected not to play in the All A Classic volleyball tournament the last two seasons.

University Heights Academy was knocked out of the tournament by Crittenden County in straight sets Thursday evening.

The semifinals will get started Saturday at 9am at Heritage Christian. The HCA Lady Warriors will square off against Crittenden County in the first game. Heritage is 7-3 and coming off back-to-back impressive wins against Madisonville-North Hopkins and Christian Fellowship. Crittenden County is 6-1 with the Lady Rockets’ only loss coming to Henderson County in four sets.

Saturday’s second semifinal will have Livingston Central taking on Fort Campbell. The Lady Cardinals are 1-6 for the season and lost to Fort Campbell Thursday night in four sets. Fort Campbell comes in at 2-3 with wins over Hopkinsville and Livingston Central.

The two winners will play for the 2nd Region All A Classic championship at 11:00am Saturday at Heritage Christian.
